Nigel Clough reacts to Burton Albion's 1-0 defeat to Preston North End at the Pirelli Stadium this afternoon.
He said: "It wasn't enough today and that was typified by the goal we gave away in injury time of the first half. It is then very difficult against a team like Preston who are full of Championship experience and I thought that was the difference today.
"They were a little bit clever and we had quite a few good situations in the first half but through a lack of quality, or lack of care, we didn't finish them off and then we gave the goal away and that gave them something to hang on to.
"We didn't test their keeper in the second half, despite Marvin Sordell's efforts and I thought he did very well when he came on. Kyle McFadzean was also excellent but there wasn't much apart from that.
"We were looking for a spark, for something and it's usually the team ethic that gets us that but it wasn't there today."
