Nigel Clough made three changes to the team that lost 1-0 to Cardiff last time out. In come Irvine, Christensen and McCrory for McFadzean, Akins and Naylor.

The Brewers boss handed new signing Lasse Vigen Christensen his debut after joining from Fulham yesterday, but the other loan signing Cauley Woodrow was named on the bench.

Burton Albion were dealt an early blow as John Brayford was forced off after just four minutes through a knee injury, he was replaced by John Mousinho.

GOAL: Luke Murphy hadn't played much football this season before is loan move to Burton Albion, but he put the Brewers ahead on on 11th minute when Lloyd Dyer pulled it back to the midfield man who struck it from 25 yards and found the bottom corner (0-1).

Apart from the goal the first half was fairly quiet. The closest Albion came to a second goal was when debutant Christensen made up ground down the right before cutting it back to Irvine who shot on the stretch but the ball found its way well over the cross bar.

GOAL: Seven minutes into the second half it was the Albion that added a second goal! Christensen and Dyer combined down the left before Dyer's shot found its way into the far corner which left Smithies helpless (0-2).

GOAL: QPR weren't going down without a fight as they grabbed a goal back on 63 minutes through their half time sub Conor Washington. The ball broke kindly for the Northern Ireland international inside the box and he made no mistake in firing past McLaughlin from close-range (1-2).

QPR has their goalkeeper the thank midway into the second half when Jackson Irvine played in Lloyd Dyer who shot inside the box but he was denied by the outstretched arm of Alex Smithies before seeing the ball cleared from crossing the line.

It was the Albion goalkeeper to produce the heroics next as Conor Washington raced through on goal but Jon McLaughlin was quick off his line to block the shot from the Northern Irishman.

Cauley Woodrow was given his Burton Albion debut as he came on for Marvin Sordell with five minutes to play.
