SCRAPPY WIN WILL SUIT BREWERS SAYS GARNER

20 January 2017

ANDY Garner says the Brewers will take a scrappy win at Cardiff if it means getting the points.

He said: “You see some really scruffy goals but we don’t seem to get those at the moment. We need a scrappy little goal. We are not making excuses but one of them would be really nice.”

Garner expects a tough test in the Welsh capital against a team managed by a former Brewers boss – Neil Warnock.

Garner said: “We know Neil very well and I’m sure he will have their team set up as he usually does. That means it will be hard work. It might not be the prettiest game in the world but we know they will put a lot of balls in our box and be good from set pieces and corners. We have to make sure we deal with that.

“We want to go to Cardiff and be solid – but can we also go and get one? That puts the onus on them to come and get at us and that would be to our advantage.

“There will only be one thing on both of our minds and that’s three points. It’s getting to that stage now where points are very important. If it has to be a grind, a slog, scruffy whatever you want to call it then it has to be. I will take a few good results from rubbish games just to get the points – it’s as simple as that. We have got to start getting points.”
