CHAIRMAN SPEAKS AT PROSTATE CANCER SUPPORT GROUP

4 July 2017

BURTON Albion chairman Ben Robinson was the guest speaker at Burton Hospital’s Prostate Cancer support group last night.

The event was held at Burton Hospital’s Medical Education Centre, and also included a talk from Macmillan’s Anna Lynall.

Burton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust launched the group back in January this year when 25 men, along with their partners, were welcomed to Burton Albion's Pirelli Stadium to formally launch the group alongside Queen's Hospital clinicians.

Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men in the UK and there are around 47,000 new cases of prostate cancer diagnosed each year. It is encouraging that the survival rate is over 85%.

The next meeting will take place on Monday 4 September at the hospital’s Medical Education Centre. Anybody interested in joining the group should contact Trevor Anderson on burton.prostatecancer.suppgrp@gmail.com.
