BURTON Albion will begin a second season of Championship football at home to Cardiff City on August 5.
That will be followed by two testing away trips to Hull City (August 12) and Middlesbrough (August 15) – two of the clubs who were relegated from the Premier League at the end of last season.
Home games against Birmingham City (August 19) and Sheffield Wednesday (August 26) complete the first month’s fixtures.
The Brewers have to wait until December 2 before they face Gary Rowett’s Derby County – at Pride Park. The home fixture at the Pirelli is on April 14.
Albion will be at home on Boxing Day, when Leeds United are the visitors, and are also at the Pirelli on December 30 playing host to Norwich City. On New Year’s Day the Brewers travel to Sheffield Wednesday.
Nigel Clough’s men are also at home on Easter Monday when Middlesbrough are the visitors.
We have to wait until April 21 for a first-ever away trip to Sunderland.
The season ends on Sunday, May 6, with a trip to Preston North End.
All fixtures are subject to change.
