NEW signing Stephen Warnock met his new team mates as the Brewers reported back for training today and is glad to be part of Nigel Clough’s squad.
The defender said: “It’s like going into school for the first time, having to get to know everyone. It has been good, and I'm glad to be back to it.
“It’s nice for me to have Jake (Buxton) here, a familiar face in the changing room, and I know a couple of the other lads as well. Me and Jake are both no nonsense defenders who understand the game.We have to learn from the experience of being relegated (with Wigan) last year and come and try help the team here progress.”
Warnock is impressed with how far the Brewers have progressed in recent times.
He said: “It’s one of the great stories of football - the way the chairman has built the club up. It’s not been a mass influx of cash but about being steady in the way he has built things. Nigel Clough is a big part of that as well.
“Looking from the outside in, it’s a great set-up and now being inside it you can see why it’s such a good set up and how it works.
