Burton Albion chairman Ben Robinson said: “We wish to thank Andy for leading the community trust through an important time when it has grown to make an enormous impact on the town of Burton and its people.

“We have an excellent staff and framework in place in the community trust and I’m delighted that Matt Hancock will step up to become our new Head of Community and to continue the brilliant work that has been led by Andy.

“We now wish Andy every success with his future career.”

We are in an excellent place and, thanks to Andy, the dedicated staff and the invaluable support of Burton Albion Football Club we know we can continue driving forward.

“On behalf of everybody at BACT we thank Andy and wish him well.”

Andy will be staying on until the end of the season to ensure a smooth transition before taking up a new role with the Aston Villa Foundation.

He said: “I want to thank Ben and Fleur Robinson for the opportunity and their support and to John Jackson, the trustees and all the staff, partners and supporters of BACT who have ensured that we have achieved so much over the last few years.

“I’m delighted to be leaving BACT in such a strong position and I know that Matt Hancock, who has played a massive part in all that has been achieved, will now drive the trust forward.
