CLOUGH WELCOMES PLAYERS BACK FROM INTERNATIONAL DUTY

29 March 2017

NIGEL Clough will be assessing his squad after reporting back from the international break.

Tom Flanagan (Northern Ireland), Cauley Woodrow (England under 21s), Lasse Vigen Christensen (Denmark under 21s) and Jackson Irvine (Australia) all return from international duty.

Irvine played two games and has done the most travelling and will be the one who may be struggling to be ready for Saturday.

Clough said: “He is back in the UK tonight, he then generally sleeps around 14 hours to catch up after the time differences and gets ready for training on Friday.

“Sometimes he feels better than others getting off the plane so it will be totally down to him if he is ready for Huddersfield on Saturday but we are mindful that we have Newcastle on Wednesday and Aston Villa on the following Saturday.

“We also have a few injuries hanging over from before the break. Kyle McFadzean and Luke Murphy are carrying knocks; John Brayford’s knee is very sore  - so there are still doubts for Saturday.”
