DEFENDER TARGETS PRE-INTERNATIONAL BREAK VICTORY

14 March 2017

THREE points at home to Brentford would be a massive step towards Championship survival says Kyle McFadzean.

The Brewers defender was delighted with a crunch win over Nottingham Forest last weekend and wants to add another victory on Saturday at the Pirelli Stadium and extend the Brewers unbeaten run to seven.

He said: “We need to build on that now. It’s important not to lose but a win would be massive for us and will give us a good chance of staying up. You can see this year that it might take more than 50 points to stay up so every win is vital.

“We know it will be a tough game because Brentford are a good team. They travel quite well and they have good players who can hurt you.

“We haven’t got back-to-back wins this season and it would be great to do it. Getting two wins in a row, going into the international break with maybe a six-point gap to the bottom three would be massive.”
