FLANAGAN SAYS BREWERS BELIEVE THEY CAN PICK UP POINTS IN ALL REMAINING GAMES

31 March 2017

DEFENDER Tom Flanagan says that the Brewers will target points in all their remaining games - however tough they seem on paper.

He said: “This is the most important spell of the season. This is where we show how much we want it and how much we believe we can stay in this league.

“We have a tough run in but everyone is beatable and we will get our heads down and beat as many as we can.

“We have three tough games coming up with Huddersfield, Newcastle and Aston Villa. But Villa haven’t been overwhelmingly good this season. People will see Burton vs Aston Villa as a Villa win but that is more to do with the name than the league position. We have beaten teams above them this year, so especially being at home, where we earmark them all as winnable, we will try and do that. But we will also be looking for something from both away games. We can’t afford to just drop points,

“Going away to Newcastle – the manager hardly has to give a team talk there. When we first walk out onto the pitch it will be brilliant. It’s what we want to do as footballers, St James’ Park is on everyone’s shortlist.

“What we have to do is go into these last eight games with that little bit extra belief and just out work the other teams.”
