INTERNATIONAL WATCH: IRVINE HELPS AUSTRALIA TO WORLD CUP POINT

BREWERS midfielder Jackson played a key part for Australia in the first of two games in this international break.

Irvine picked up his 8th cap as Australia drew 1-1 with Iraq in neutral Tehran.

Australia led through a Mathew Leckie goal in the 39th minute but were pegged back by Iraq in the 74th minute.

Irvine was replaced by James Troisi with eight minutes left.

Australia now face the UAE at home in Sydney on Tuesday the 28th of March. 

Both matches are World Cup qualifiers and Irvine will be hoping to help them record a  victory back on home territory as they look for automatic qualification.
