JACKSON IRVINE CALLED UP TO REPRESENT AUSTRALIA

BURTON Albion’s Jackson Irvine has been called up to the Australian Senior National Team for its participation in the FIFA 2018 World Cup Qualifiers.

Australian Irvine will hope to pick up his 8th and 9th cap when Australia face Iraq and the United Arab Emirates.

The Socceroos will play matches against Iraq on March 23 in Tehran and UAE on March 28 2017.

Ange Postecoglou’s men currently sit third in Group B as they look to qualify for the FIFA World Cup 2018 in Russia.

Australia have drawn their last three matches. They drew 2-2 with Thailand, 1-1 with Japan and 22 with Saudi Arabia back in October. They have friendlies lined up against Brazil and Germany in June, as well as away trips to Cameroon and Chile.

Lasse Vigen Christensen and Tom Flanagan have also been called up to their respective countries ahead of the international break which commences after Saturday’s fixture.
