THE games are coming thick and fast for Burton Albion as they head into the final stretch of the Championship season.

The Brewers picked up another crucial point on Tuesday, when they held high-flying Sheffield Wednesday to a draw at Hillsborough.

It’s now five games unbeaten for Nigel Clough’s men and Saturday’s clash against rivals Nottingham Forest could not be bigger.

Their East Midlands rivals are just one place above them in the table, with just two points separating the sides, and were thumped by Brentford during the week.

Gary Brazil, who was named caretaker manager until the end of the season, was furious at his players following the defeat just days after thrashing promotion-chasing Brighton at the weekend.

The Forest players will be aiming to bounce back and this weekend’s derby game will have them fired up.

Zach Clough has impressed since joining the club from Bolton, scoring three goals, and has formed an exciting partnership with Britt Assombalonga.

The pair face a tough task on Saturday, though. with Burton’s backline conceding just three goals in their past five games.

Confidence is growing as each point edges the Brewers closer to survival and victory at the Pirelli Stadium could prove pivotal at the end of the season.
