FOOTBALL CELEBRATION ON FINAL DAY OF THE SEASON

2 May 2017

BURTON Albion’s first team squad will show their appreciation of Brewers supporters with a lap of honour after the Reading game.

Fans are also being invited to make it a double header of football action with Burton Albion Ladies also playing at the Pirelli on Sunday, May 7.

Burton Albion players and management staff will come back out to the field ten minutes after the final whistle to thank supporters for their loyal support throughout the 2016/2017 Championship season.

Supporters are reminded that it is an offence to enter the field of play and by doing so will result in the players not coming out for the lap of appreciation.

Supporters are also then being offered the chance to watch the Burton Albion Ladies play their final league game of the season against Crusaders at the Pirelli Stadium at 5pm.

This is free entry to all supporters. Fans who are planning to go to both games will have to vacate the stadium after the Reading match and will then be allowed back in the stadium at 4pm with the South West Stand being open. Box holders and hospitality guests can stay on to watch the ladies game and do not have  to vacate the stadium and return.

This a chance for supporters to show their support to the Albion Ladies who have secured promotion to the Women’s Premier League by winning their league.

Ladies manager Adam Smallman said: “Again this is another piece of excellent support we have received from Ben Robinson and the football club. The game will be a fantastic close to an unbelievable season and to do it in front of a good crowd of Brewers fans would be amazing.”

Ben Robinson said: “I’m sure all our fans will want to show their appreciation for Nigel Clough and the first team squad after our final game of the season and we are delighted to help the ladies team celebrate a brilliant season by playing their final game at the Pirelli Stadium.”
