ON this day in 1966 Burton Albion were victorious over Wisbech Town in the Southern League First Division.

Goals from Alex Tait and Bill Norris ensured a 2-1 victory over The Fenmen back in the 1965/66 season in front of 374 spectators at Fenland Park.

Tait went on to score 13 goals that season, but Norris notched just once although he only represented the Brewers twice during the campaign.

Richie Barker and Stan Round continued to show their goal scoring talents in that same season. Round netted 59 times with Barker finding the net on 56 occasions helping the Brewers to a third-placed finish.
