ENGLAND under 17s Head Coach Steve Cooper believes that his team “feels at home” at the Pirelli Stadium.
Cooper’s side beat Russia 2-1 at Burton Albion’s home on Saturday as preparations continued for the 2018 under 17s European Championships, for which the Pirelli Stadium is one of the host venues.
Cooper praised the standard of the Pirelli Stadium pitch, and said that his team feels a home advantage when playing at the ground, something he hopes will continue if his side play at the stadium during next year’s tournament.
He said: “It is the closest stadium to St George’s Park, one that we have used a lot over the years and it has served us well.
“The pitch is fabulous, there is a really nice setting around here and the people are good. When we come here, we do feel like we are playing at home, hopefully we can keep that going if we play here at the end of the season.”
