READ our match preview ahead of this evening’s Championship fixture against Brentford at Griffin Park (7.45pm).
HEAD 2 HEAD
The Brewers and The Bees have only met on two previous occasions which were league games last season, and it’s not great reading for the Brewers. Dean Smith’s side turned over Burton both times with a 2-1 win at Griffin Park before a 5-3 victory at the Pirelli Stadium.
SEASON SO FAR
Brentford have struggled to find any kind of consistency so far this season and currently sit 13th in the Championship table.
It took them nine league games to finally register their first win which came against Bolton Wanderers, but they followed that victory up with crucial back-to-back draws against Derby County and Middlesbrough in September.
They remained unbeaten for eight games after that first win but their run was halted on Saturday when they lost 2-0 to Cardiff City at the Cardiff City Stadium.
BURTON ALBION TEAM NEWS
Lloyd Dyer is struggling with his hamstring injury after coming off against Sheffield United.
John Brayford (hamstring) is recovering well but will not feature tonight, as well as loanee Joe Mason who is suffering with a back injury.
BRENTFORD TEAM NEWS
Sergi Canos impressed off the bench against Cardiff and could start ahead of Florian Jozefzoon out wide. Rico Henry and Alan Judge are both sidelined with long-term injury problems, while Henrik Dalsgaard is also out through injury.
REFEREE
Chris Kavanagh will be the man in charge tonight at Griffin Park. So far this season he has shown 19 yellow cards and one red card in eight matches across the Premier League, Championship and League One.
He will be assisted by Peter Kirkup and Marc Perry.
