COTTERILL PRAISES DETERMINATION OF HIS TEAMMATES

23 November 2017

JAYDEN Cotterill was pleased with the determination of his teammates as they came from behind to beat Highgate United in the Birmingham Senior Cup and is hoping that the Brewers can go all the way to winning the competition.

Cotterill wore the captain’s armband for the evening as late goals from Shaun Barker and Reece Hutchinson helped the Brewers to a 3-2 win to progress in the competition.

The Academy graduate praised his teammates for continuing to fight for a result and says the Brewers want to win the Birmingham Senior Cup.

He said: “The lads did well to come from 2-1 down to pick themselves up and score two good goals.

“To be standing on our own two feet and matching their players physically is good for all of us.

We are trying to win the competition, obviously, no one wants to lose.”

Cotterill also praised Chris Beardsley, Shaun Barker and Nick Fenton for their impact in last night’s game on and off the field.

“They (Barker, Beardsley and Fenton) all experience at a professional level and in the dressing room, they will help each other out.  if you need telling something then they will tell us and give us a bit of support.”
