CLOUGH HOPES INTERNATIONAL DUTY WILL IMPROVE PLAYERS

2 October 2017

NIGEL Clough says that Matty Lund and Tom Flanagan’s involvement in the Northern Ireland squad will improve them as players.

The Brewers manager says: “We always think it’s great experience for them playing with international players and watching international football, even if they aren’t involved. It’s a different experience to what they get in the Championship.

“Matty Lund has been a bit under par since the last international break and he doesn’t quite feel right so hopefully he will come back in better shape.”

Northern Ireland have already secured second place in their group and are currently on a run of five straight wins.

They face top-of-the-table Germany at home on Thursday 5th of October at Windsor Park.

Germany currently have eight wins from eight games with the Northern Irish five points behind.

After they’ve faced Germany, Northern Ireland will then head to Oslo to face Norway at the Ullevaal Stadion in a 7.45pm kick-off on Sunday 8th October.
