THE latest meeting of Burton Albion’s business networking group focussed on the way stress and mental health can have an impact on employers and their staff.
The Club Albion members met at the Pirelli Stadium to listen to guest speaker Julian Hall from Calm People – a Midlands based group which works with organisations and individuals to find healthy ways to express emotions, resolve conflict and develop strategies to feel more at ease with their emotional lives.
Julian explained to Club Albion members how damaging stress can be in the workplace leading to health problems for employees and costs for companies.
Julian said: “The emotional and mental health of employees is coming further and further up the agenda of every organisation we work with. Thy are all beginning to realise that their employees are their biggest asset and that their mental health is the biggest deciding factor in their success.”
Club Albion organiser Raj Athwal said: “It was great to have Julian at our latest meeting. He gave us a valuable insight into an important issue that is still not well understood by many businesses.
“Club Albion continues to go from strength-to-strength and it was good to see established members and some new faces at this sold out event.
