NIGEL Clough will pick a side for tomorrow night’s trip to Bedworth United in the Birmingham Senior Cup with one eye on Friday’s Championship game at Bristol City.
The Brewers boss said: “A few lads will have a game tomorrow night who need a run out. If they can get up to speed they will then be in contention at Bristol.
“Everything we do this week will be tailored to Friday.”
Clough’s squad return to the Pirelli Stadium this week from the international break with defenders John Brayford and Ben Turner still nursing hamstring injuries ahead of the trip to Ashton Gate.
Clough says he won’t be taking any chances with Turner and Brayford if they have any doubts.
He says: “Especially with the nature of the injuries we don’t want to take any risks.”
Before the Bristol City Championship fixture the Brewers will travel to Bedworth in the first round of the Birmingham Senior Cup tomorrow – kick off 19:45.
