JOHN Taylor High School was the destination for Burton Albion first team players John Brayford and Shaun Barker, as they visited one of Burton Albion Community Trust’s (BACT’s) Premier League Girls Football Programmes.
The programme, which was delivered by BACT’s Ben Webster on the day, is a school’s lunchtime initiative that aims to get girls more active and involved in playing football. The one-hour long session aims to not just allow participants the opportunity to work alongside qualified coaches from the trust, but also to practise basic football skills, drills and small-sided games in a fun and relaxed school environment.
Following a morning training session at St George’s Park, the two defenders took time out to visit the excited participants, who got the chance to ask questions and take photos with the Brewers duo. Lots of in-depth questions were asked and answered, as the defensive pair were asked a variety of questions on health, personal experiences and future advice.
