BURTON Albion fans are reminded that they must never buy tickets in home areas for away supporters.
The club operates rigorous procedures to ensure visiting supporters aren’t able to purchase tickets in home areas of the Pirelli Stadium either online or in person.
However, a number of away fans have still been able to find their way into home sections of the ground at some matches.
After investigation, the club believes that this is down to home fans purchasing tickets that they pass on to friends, family and work colleagues who support other clubs.
Burton Albion Commercial Director Fleur Robinson says: “We need our supporters to understand that under no circumstances should they purchase tickets for anybody supporting the visiting club. This is a breach of the ground regulations and compromises ground safety and we will report offenders to the police.
“Away fans should only purchase tickets for the designated away sections of the ground from their own club.”
The club’s ticket buying policy is designed to make sure away fans cannot purchase tickets for the home section of the ground.
Fans may need a buying history to purchase for particular fixtures to ensure they are genuine Brewers supporters.
Postcode restrictions will apply – meaning those with an address in the vicinity of the visiting club, cannot purchase home tickets.
When collecting tickets fans will be asked to provide proof of their identity and address before being handed tickets.
