BACT WINS AWARD AT BURTON MAIL BUSINESS AWARDS 2017

20 October 2017

BURTON Albion Community Trust (BACT) took one of the top gongs at the Burton Mail Annual Business Awards last night (19th October), picking up the award for Employer of the Year.

t’s the second time that BACT have been nominated for the award, after originally being nominated in 2013, however, they narrowly missed out. It was last night however, that the Trust picked up their second serious accolade of the year, following winning the Midlands Community Club of the Year award back in February, as they were presented with the Burton Mail’s award.

On the evening, the trust was up against two other Burton-based employers, who had also been famed for their work across the town, but it was the community arm of Burton Albion Football Club that ran out overall winners.

Head of Community, Matt Hancock and Community Operations Manager, Lisa Beard, were joined on the night by fellow employees Paul Furniss and Wayne Chadfield, alongside members of the trustee board, in a glittering ceremony at the Pirelli Stadium.

Following receiving the award, Matt Hancock, said: “It was a brilliant surprise and testament to the hard work of all the staff throughout the last 12 months. I am really proud of our workforce and it’s really nice that their passion, commitment and quality has been recognised at such a high profile awards evening. It’s great that we can continue to shadow the amazing success of the football club and we hope to continue to make a difference within our communities.”
