JUNIOR BREWERS MEET THEIR ALBION HEROES

25 October 2017

IT’S been described as the ‘most successful’ of Junior Brewers events, as excited young Burton Albion fans got the chance to meet their first team heroes this afternoon at the Pirelli Stadium.

Burton Albion’s Junior Brewers fan club members came together for the club’s annual event today, as around 90 fanatical young Burton Albion fans were allowed an access all areas pass to join in with football fun with the players that they usually only get to see from the terraces.

Manager, Nigel Clough, his backroom staff and the entire first-team squad were in attendance, posing for photographs, signing autographs and joining in with football practices over on the Burton Albion Community Football Centre 3G pitch.

Burton Subway were also on hand, as they supplied food for participants and parents on the day. The youngsters then got to end their afternoon as they toured around the Pirelli Stadium for a photograph quiz, taking in behind the scenes views of the Pirelli Stadium.

Matt Hancock, Head of Community, said: “It’s the most successful Junior Brewers event that we’ve ever hosted! We’ve got around 140 Juniors Brewers this year and for around 90 of them to have been able to join us today, is fantastic. It wasn’t just because of the numbers though that it was such a success. Every single player and member of staff was unbelievably welcoming and interactive during their time with the youngsters, and that’s not to say that they aren’t every year, but this year they went above and beyond to make this year that extra bit special.”
