FAMILY AREA PILOT SCHEME AT NEXT TWO HOME GAMES

26 October 2017

BREWERS fans are being reminded that part of the North Stand will be designated as a Family Area for the next two home games.

The club is aiming to improve the matchday experience for parents and their children by piloting the Family Area.

The club is responding to fans’ wishes by designating an area of the North Stand for families only for the Ipswich game on October 28 and Barnsley game on October 31.

Fans wishing to use the Family Area should enter the ground by the North Stand turnstiles and then turn right and enter the stand at the far end. They should then use section J of the stand which will be reserved for under 16s and their families. No person will be allowed into this area unless they are with an under 16. There will be zero tolerance of bad language in the Family Area.

Stewards will ask anyone using bad language to immediately leave the Family Area.

If the pilot is a success then the plan will be to make the Family Area a permanent fixture.

Burton Albion Commercial Director Fleur Robinson said: “We have always been committed to ensuring the Pirelli Stadium is family-friendly and we hope other supporters will understand why we are doing this and help us with this initiative. We know that means some adult supporters will have to move from the place they normally stand and we thank them for their understanding.

“The Family Area is just part of our plans with pre-match activities for youngsters on the 3G pitch and other initiatives also in the pipeline. Along with our Junior Brewers club, it means Burton Albion will have the right offer for our younger supporters.”

Burton Albion Community Trust Head of Community Matt Hancock added: “It’s important that we make the Pirelli Stadium an exciting, safe and enjoyable place to come for families and we have lots of plans for making the matchday experience memorable for children and their parents. We are sure all of our supporters will want to help us create a great Family Area at the Pirelli Stadium.”
