HARRAD RETURNS TO BURTON ALBION

6 September 2017

FORMER Burton Albion front man, Shaun Harrad has linked up with the Academy to help develop the next generation of Burton Albion players.

Harrad, who scored 69 goals in 229 league appearances for the Brewers, will help coach the under 18s in the Professional Development Phase of the Academy. The former Notts County man, who scored 21 league goals in Burton’s first ever season in the Football League, currently plays for Matlock Town alongside Jayden Cotterill and Callum Hawkins, (who are on loan from Burton Albion).

Harrad said he is delighted to return to Burton Albion and is excited to see what the future holds for the players in the Academy.

“I am delighted to be back involved at the club, I am playing part-time at Matlock Town now and have my own coaching business, Shaun Harrad Coaching, the club has obviously expanded on and off the pitch, which is brilliant to see and the Academy have done a fantastic job helping develop local players.

“I get just as much of a buzz from coaching young players now as I do playing, so if I can just pass on a bit of my experience and knowledge of the game, I will be very happy.”

First-team Manager Nigel Clough is pleased to welcome Harrad back to the club.

“He’s a lovely lad who did ever so well for us when he was here and we always welcome players like that back in whatever capacity."
