ALLEN DELIGHTED WITH BATTLING POINT

12 September 2017

MIDFIELDER Jamie Allen says it was a "brilliant" point for the Brewers after the 0-0 draw at Norwich.

The transfer deadline day signing from Rochdale was making only his second appearance in a Brewers shirt after a baptism of fire at Leeds United.

He said: "It was important we bounced back and played the way we know we can play and it's a really good point away from home.

"I should have scored in the second half and then maybe we would have won the game but apart from that I thought we stuck to the task well.

"I came here as I thought I was ready to make the step up to Championship football. I had only been here a week when I played at Leeds and in front of 33,000 people as well which was a first for me. It won't be a good memory but it will stay with me.

"I have come in and the lads have welcomed me with open arms so I'm very happy. The manager has shown some trust in me and I just want to keep proving him right that I'm capable of playing in this league.

"Tonight, we are buzzing to bounce back with a point to take us into the Fulham game on Saturday."
