INJURY UPDATE: FULHAM

15 September 2017

NIGEL Clough is hoping to have a trio of injured players back for the Fulham home fixture tomorrow afternoon.

Matty Lund, Sean Scannell and Matty Palmer were all absent from the 0-0 draw at Norwich on Tuesday night but could all be in contention again.

Clough said: "They have all trained this morning and there were no reactions so we hope to have them all available again."

Stephen Warnock and John Brayford are also possible doubts.

Clough said: "Stephen didn't finish the game at Norwich after feeling it in the last 10 minutes. John just about finished it. We would like to get them both out there but we might have to see how they are tomorrow morning and we are conscious there are five games coming up very quickly."

Hope Akpan, who has been suspended and then injured, may also come into contention with Clough looking for the midfielder to make his talent count.

The Brewers boss said: "He has to do more and we are expecting more from him when we see his ability in training. We have another 40 games to go and he will definitely be needed. We just want a full squad to chose from and everyone fit and firing."

Clough is delighted to be back at the Pirelli Stadium tomorrow.

He said: "We seem to have been spending more time on the bus than at home. When eight of your first 12 games are away from home then the fixture list hasn't been kind to you. It's a lot of travelling for supporters and we are grateful to those that made the trip to Norwich but it takes it out of everybody.

"Being at home we still feel is our best chance of getting points so we want to be as positive as we can within the restrictions of what the opposition are doing."
