MURPHY WANTS BREWERS RUN TO CONTINUE

26 September 2017

BREWERS midfielder Luke Murphy has spoke about how important it is the side continue their good run of form going into tonight’s game against Aston Villa.

Murphy said: “In the dressing room, the lads and the manager always speak about keeping the run and the momentum going. Since the Leeds game we have bounced back well as a side with two good points on the road, clean sheets and a good win against Fulham. Even the defeat at Old Trafford which was a great experience for us all, highlighted the depth we’ve got in the squad.

He also spoke about taking game by game as they come: “The lads are very grounded, we don’t look too far ahead. It’ll be the same tonight, we go into each game taking them game by game and being focused on the task in hand. Any team coming to the Pirelli know how tough it is, we played well against Villa last season and well against Fulham recently so we can take that into the game.

"The manager always reminds us that the best start is to grab an early goal, we will look to press them early and try and unsettle them before they find their rhythm.”

Murphy is also looking forward to playing against in-form midfielder Conor Hourihane: “I know Conor quite well, he’s in good form so I am sure it will be a good battle. As a player you want to test yourself against the better players in the league.”
