INJURY UPDATE: WOLVES

29 September 2017

BURTON Albion could be without influential defenders John Brayford and Ben Turner for tomorrow’s home game against Wolves.

Both players picked up hamstring injuries in the game against Aston Villa on Tuesday night and with an international break coming up may well need that time to recover.

Nigel Clough said: “They are both very doubtful. But this is where the squad comes into play as other lads are going to get the opportunities they have been waiting a few weeks for.

“Matty Plamer has had a bruised foot that was troubling him before the Manchester United game and after playing in that game it flared up again. But we are hoping that he will be ready to be in the squad for tomorrow.”

The Brewers will definitely be without striker Joe Mason, who can’t play against his parent club as part of the terms of his loan deal.

Wolves have made a good start to the season and Clough expects the visitors to have the bulk of the possession tomorrow with their strong passing game.

He said: “It’s similar to Fulham; they are probably not quite as good at it as Fulham who have had the same manager for a couple of seasons now but it’s the same principle and they are technically very good. We have to be solid and organised and try and find a way to be a threat ourselves.”
