CLOUGH LOOKS FOR HOME WIN IN 'BIG WEEK' FOR BREWERS

9 April 2018

NIGEL Clough is targeting a home win for the Brewers in “a big week” for his team.

The Brewers face Hull tomorrow night and then Derby County on Saturday at the Pirelli Stadium.

Clough says: “It’s a big week for us with Hull and Derby coming up. Hull are ex-Premier League and we never dreamt we would ever be playing Derby in the league.

“Hopefully we can win a home game this week and take it to the last three games.

“We have scored in the last few games as well. We scored at Wolves, at Cardiff against Middlesbrough and at Birmingham. That gives us a chance in games. If we get one on Tuesday night we might be able to hang on.

“We have to make people play and make sure we get enough points so that Bolton and Birmingham need to win a game before the end of the season. Going five games without a win is easily done in this league and we need to get enough points to put them under a little bit of pressure.

“We know we have been close in the last few weeks and that gives us a glimmer of hope. After the Reading game our performances have been of a good enough standard to have earned more points.

“We are going to take it as long as we can and keep fighting and battling like we did against Birmingham.”
