BYWATER SAYS BREWERS ARE ONLY THINKING ABOUT WINS

9 April 2018

STEPHEN Bywater says that winning is the only thing on the mind of everyone at Burton Albion as the side prepares for tomorrow night's game against Hull City at the Pirelli Stadium (7:45 kick-off).

There Brewers are seven points adrift of safety, despite encouraging performances against Middlesbrough and Birmingham City. Late goals in both of those games meant that the Brewers were forced to settle for draws.

Bywater says that that Burton Albion have never had any intention of playing for anything other than a win during their time in the Championship, and is adamant that will not change against the Tigers.

“We have got to win at least three games, anyone can see that we need three wins because of the points that we are behind.

“But this is a game is funny, I saw Cardiff (on Friday night) in the last five minutes. Who would have thought that would have happened?

“That is the beauty of football. We will go to our home ground, get Hull and see what happens (tomorrow). We are going to go out to win, I like that. The gaffer has been like that all season, and all last season, you go out to win.

“There is no chasing anything, because we always go out to win. We don’t go out to draw, we want to win, and that is the mentality that we have always had. So, we are set in our way of going out to win.

“It is a mental game, but I think that we have characters in the dressing room to say ‘let’s see what happens Tuesday and keep going’. Can people handle the pressure if they are getting chased?”
