CLOUGH LOOKS TO END HOME HOODOO AGAINST HULL

10 April 2018

NIGEL Clough is looking to end the long wait for a home win against Hull tonight.

The Brewers home form has put Championship survival at jeopardy and the Albion manager is looking to try and put that right in the last three games at the Pirelli Stadium.

After tonight’s game (kick off 7.45pm) Albion face Derby County on Saturday and Bolton on April 28.

He says: “We want to try and get a home win going into next season whatever league we are in.

“We want to end this run so when we start again next August we are not going into it the back of not having won at home. In the last three home games we want to get a victory and we haven’t given up hope yet.”

Albion were close to achieving that last time out at the Pirelli Stadium when a last-minute goal by Middlesbrough denied the Brewers three points.

Clough says: “There is always a fear of losing and you have seen that in the last two games.”

He also knows it will be tough against an improved Hull side.

“Hull with their victory on Saturday are just about there and they have picked up results recently.

“They have had Abel Hernandez back and that’s what has made the difference.

“Over the course of the season those players who can get you goals, do something special to get you out of trouble or into the play offs are the difference. All the teams that have these match winners are pulling clear or challenging the top six.

“It’s the front four at Hull not just Hernandez that makes them a threat.

“We have to try and take them the other way and go forward ourselves.

“That’s the priority – what can we do and then we look at how we can limit Hull.”
