LLOYD Dyer has been ruled out of the vital game at Sunderland with a hamstring injury.

Nigel Clough says the Brewers top scorer will definitely miss Saturday’s trip to the Stadium of Light.

“He’s definitely not in contention for this weekend – we will have to see how he is after that.”

Tom Naylor (thigh strain), Marvin Sordell (ankle) and Damien McCrory (hamstring) are also doubts.

Clough said: “We only had 12 or 13 training yesterday. There will be a few more today and we are waiting on Tom, Damien and Marvin.

“Darren Bent will be back available and will return to the squad. We are also hoping that everyone will come through who played last Saturday.

“Ben Turner and Kyle McFadzean got knocks so there are one or two carrying things. Jacob Davenport came off with a knock as well. We will have to see how they are.”
