NIGEL Clough says he expects tomorrow’s big clash with Sunderland at the Stadium of Light to be a “battle”.
The bottom two in the Championship both need to win to keep survival hopes alive.
The Albion manager said: “We are expecting a battle up there as no-one wants to go down without a fight.”
It has been a tough season for Sunderland following relegation from the Premier League.
Clough said: “I don’t know what more Chris Coleman could have done. I’m not sure any other manager could have got them out of trouble. They have been on a downward spiral but what they have done recently is fight and scrap for everything. They have had a lot of draws and been close to victories like ourselves – so we expect a battle first and foremost.
“They are a big club, with great support and, for them, it’s about turning it around and getting it moving in the right direction."
But it will all be about getting a result for Albion on Saturday.
“If we can get a win or a draw then we take the fight for the last two games,” said Clough.
