BREWERS PREPARE FOR VITAL BOLTON CLASH

23 April 2018

AFTER the dramatic come-from-behind win at Sunderland it’s all eyes on another survival showdown when the Brewers take on Bolton on Saturday at the Pirelli Stadium (kick off 3pm).

The visitors are two points ahead of the Brewers and one place above the drop zone. A win for the Brewers would put them above Bolton and would take the battle to the last game of the season at Preston.

Clough said: “We always said anything can happen and our aim against Bolton will be to take it to the last day.

“We will get back for a couple of days training on Tuesday and Wednesday and start the preparation for Saturday. It’s important we don’t build it up too much and don’t ratchet everything up until everyone is too nervous to go out there. In the last two games we have gone out and played and done our thing and we will do that again in the last couple.

“Over the last 20 years now we have tried to build teams on character and after losing 5-0 to Hull to come back and pick up six points, that’s all about character.”

The Albion squad were on a high after the victory at Sunderland but know that they must follow that up with another performance at the Pirelli Stadium on Saturday.

Clough said: “When you get the points like that in stoppage time then it’s special and I just hope we can make it mean something otherwise it will be for nothing.”

Clough praised the “magnificent” fans who cheered Albion on at the Stadium of Light and the Brewers will need that backing again on Saturday
