INJURY REPORT: GILLINGHAM

8 August 2018

JAMIE Allen is the biggest injury doubt heading into Saturday's first away game of the League One season at Gillingham (kick off 3pm).

Brewers manager Nigel Clough said: "We were pretty clear after the Rochdale game in terms of injuries and the only one who has missed any training is Jamie Allen.

"His back seized up a bit so he will miss Tuesday and Wednesday training but hopefully he will be OK to train Friday. But we will have to see how he is especially with the journey and sitting on a bus for three hours.

"Jake Buxton is also carrying a couple of knocks and coudn't do much at the start of the week. Apart from that everyone is fine.

"Will Miller also got on the pitch at Kidsgrove which is a bonus as he comes back from his knee injury.

"Everybody is not quite fully fit but we are getting there and we are in a better position than we were two or three weeks ago."

The first teamers who didn't get on the pitch against Rochdale got a run out at Kidsgrove and had the chance to put themselves in the manager's thoughts for Gillingham.

Clough said: "Joe Sbarra was the stand out performer. He was excellent and was very close to getting on against Rochdale, if not starting.

"I was very pleased with the attitude more than anything last night. We played some good stuff at times and scored some good goals."
