CLOUGH SAYS RESULTS WILL FOLLOW GOOD PERFORMANCES

10 August 2018

NIGEL Clough says that the right results will follow if the Brewers keep playing as well as they did at home to Rochdale.

Albion lost 2-1 but created a hatful of chances and Clough was pleased with the overall performance despite being disappointed at the result.

He said: “There won’t be too many games this season where the opposition has only two shots on target and gets two goals and we have 17 and get one and we play as well as we did in the second half and don’t get the rewards. Good performances lead to good results.”

Tomorrow, the Brewers travel to Gillingham, who recorded an opening day away win at newly-promoted Accrington.

Clough said: “Gillingham had an excellent win on the opening day of the season and it’s a tough place to go.

“They will be buoyed by the confidence of that first win, but we are in pretty good shape as well as we know how well we played on Saturday and we just want to take that sort of performance to Gillingham.

“We want to get a point or three and get off the mark.”
