SAM Rose was delighted with how the Burton Albion under 18s reacted to the previous week's defeat in the win against Oldham Athletic on Friday.

The Young Brewers picked up their first win of the Youth Alliance season with a 3-0 victory over the Latics, with Kyle Clamp, Nathan Morley and Manny Shittu all scoring first-half goals.

Professional Development Phase Lead Coach, Rose, says that he hopes the side can kick on from Friday’s performance.
He said: “It was a great reaction to our previous result. We were really pleased to see the lads have the bit between their teeth and to score three goals in the first-half to seal the result by half-time. To keep a clean sheet was also a positive and to still create chances in the second-half was really pleasing.
“We are not going to get ahead of ourselves, but this result may have been a culmination of everything we did in pre-season up to this point, it all came together in this game. Our challenge now is to find some consistency and build on the performance.”
