JAKE Buxton says the Pirelli Stadium faithful can help the Brewers with their support this season.
Albion entered the 2018-19 season coming off the back of a Championship campaign where they won just three times at home. The Brewers beat Doncaster Rovers at the Pirelli on Saturday, their first points of the season.
Buxton says that he hopes the victory encourages supporters to get behind the side, as it does make a difference to the players on the pitch.
“I was here 10 years ago when we won the (Blue Square Premier), I think people forget that. I said to the lads at the start of the season, this is a good place to play when you are winning.
“When the fans get behind you and the place is rocking, it is a nice place. The fans do get behind you and you do enjoy playing your football. When we have been in a tough spell, as we have been 13 or 14 months, sometimes we need to supporters to get behind us and help us through the tough times.
“(Against Doncaster), we have turned a bit of a corner, got a clean sheet and won a game at home. Long may that continue and hopefully the supporters will get behind us going on.”
