MATCH PREVIEW | ASTON VILLA

28 August 2018

WE move into the Second Round of the Carabao Cup tonight as we host Aston Villa at the Pirelli Stadium.

HEAD 2 HEAD

We have met Villa on four occasions in competitive fixtures - all in the Sky Bet Championship over the previous two seasons.

Villa were victorious in three of those fixtures, with Albion securing a 1-1 draw on April 8, 2017 - with Lloyd Dyer netting to cancel out Jonathan Kodjia's early strike.

BURTON ALBION TEAM NEWS

The Brewers will be without the suspended Jamie Allen, who accumulated two yellow cards in our game at Oxford United last weekend.

Joe Sbarra (ankle) and Damien McCrory (hamstring) will be unavailable this evening - with everyone else in contention to face Championship side Villa.

VILLA TEAM NEWS

Jack Grealish and John McGinn are likely to miss out after suffering knocks in Villa's draw with Reading last weekend.

Manager Steve Bruce confirmed to the media following that draw that there will be "big changes" to the side that drew at Reading, meaning the likes of Andre Green and Rushian Hepburn-Murphy could play a part.

OFFICIALS

Darren Bond will be the man-in-the-middle for tonight's game as The Brewers take on Villa.

The Lancashire-based referee has officiated four games this season, three Championship games and one Carabao Cup, issuing 14 yellow cards and one red.
