NIGEL Clough is hopeful of getting at least two loan deals over the line before Friday's deadline as he seeks to bolster his Burton Albion squad.

The extended loan window shuts at 5pm on Friday, August 31, following the closure of the permanent transfer window earlier this month.

Scott Fraser, David Templeton, Elliot Hodge and Stephen Quinn have all arrived on free transfers this summer with The Brewers yet to bring a loan player in.

With Stephen Bywater suffering an injury in our 1-0 Carabao Cup win over Aston Villa on Tuesday evening, Clough is also looking at bringing a goalkeeper in.

"They've got to be in by Friday so we'll get them registered in the next couple of days," said Clough.
"I think things have been verbally agreed, it's just confirming everything this morning (Wednesday).
"They are young players, two from one club - a Premier League club - and we're pursuing a particular goalkeeper."
