BURTON Albion pair John Brayford and Marcus Harness have paid a visit to a Burton Albion Community Trust over-60s walking football session.
Both were on hand at ‘Golden Goal Football’ as part of a Burton Albion Community Trust project, held at Uttoxeter Leisure Centre.
Walking football is the UK’s fastest-growing sport, with sessions now branching out to Uttoxeter following the success of the project in Burton.
Scott Taylor, Football Development Manager, said: "The lads (Brayford and Harness) were fantastic. They really looked like they were enjoying themselves and it was a pleasure to have them there.
"They engaged throughout and did a fantastic question-and-answer session to get involved from the start.
"Spreading out the brand of Burton Albion to Uttoxeter is something that we are keen to keep growing and by having the players showing their support, it will only help for the future."
There are plenty of opportunities for residents of East Staffordshire to come and join in at any time, with the first session being completely free. There is no need to book, interested parties simply need to turn up in suitable clothing and are advised to bring a drink.
The Burton session runs from 9am-10am at the Burton Albion Community Football Centre every Wednesday, while the Uttoxeter session runs from 2.30pm-3.30pm at Uttoxeter Leisure Centre every Tuesday. For any more information, please contact scott.taylor@burtonalbionct.org.
