INJURY UPDATE: SHREWSBURY

5 December 2018

BEN Fox and Ben Turner will be back in training this week as they look to make a comeback from injury but may still miss out on Saturday’s home game against Shrewsbury (kick off 3pm).

Turner has been out for six weeks with a calf injury whilst Fox has had a hamstring strain and hasn’t played since November 7.

Nigel Clough says: “The have not quite progressed as we had hoped by this stage, but they are scheduled to train on Friday morning. We have a reserve game at Shrewsbury on Tuesday and we are hoping they will play some part in that as a step to build up fitness.

“They have been out a few weeks now so even if they make the bench on Saturday we have to see how they go in terms of involving them.”

David Templeton (calf) and Marvin Sordell (knee) will not have recovered from injury however and will almost certainly have to sit out the Shrewsbury game.

Another injury concern for Clough is midfielder Jamie Allen.

He said: “Jamie’s ankle is quite sore. He has done a little bit of training but not been able to do all the sessions. Jamie being the character he is will do everything he can do be out there.”
