MATCH PREVIEW: FLEETWOOD TOWN VS BREWERS

ALBION travel to Fleetwood Town this afternoon to face Joey Barton’s Cod Army.

HEAD 2 HEAD

Nine meetings have taken place between the two sides since the start of 2012, of which the Brewers have won four.  

The most notable meeting between the teams came at Wembley in the 2014 League Two play-off final. Fleetwood won the game 1-0, although the Brewers would win the League Two title a year later.

 

BURTON ALBION TEAM NEWS

Ben Fox and Ben Turner featured in Tuesday’s Central League Cup  are expected to be available after overcoming injury, although Marvin Sordell and David Templeton remain doubts for today’s game.

 

FLEETWOOD TOWN TEAM NEWS 

Winger Wes Burns (hamstring) is doubtful, as is defender Lewis Coyle (Ribs). James Husband is also expected to miss the game after limping off against Luton Town.

 

OFFICIALS

Anthony Backhouse has refereed eight League One games this season and issued 19 yellow cards, two red cards and given two penalties. His only time refereeing a Brewers game this season was September’s 3-0 win over AFC Wimbledon at the Pirelli Stadium.
