YOUNG BREWERS DONATE GIFTS TO HARVEY GIRLS

18 December 2018

THE Academy has continued its charitable streak this festive season by donating gifts to Harvey Girls, which offers local support to young parents.

After the success of the Academy’s ‘Christmas jumper’ training sessions last week, and the subsequent high volume of gifts donated by players, presents were divided up and donations were made to two local charities.

The first was Derek’s Tree, who received their gifts on Friday, before Ian North of Harvey Girls made the trip to the Pirelli Stadium to meet the under 18s side and take more than 50 gifts back to the charity with him.

He said: “It is really generous, and it is great to be working with Burton Albion again. It is amazing how much the young players do the community that they represent.

“The gifts will go to some of our vulnerable families and will go towards helping them to have a better Christmas.

“I think it is a great gesture because it fits in with our charity culture and objectives. The players are quite fortunate because they are skilful footballers. So it is great to see them wanting to help those less fortunate.”
