THERE is still time to join a special five-a-side tournament at the Pirelli Stadium but spaces are now limited.
The Burton Albion Corporate Five-a-Side Tournament (sponsored by Booker Wholesale) offers a rare chance to play on the same pitch that has seen Nigel Clough’s Brewers team beat Aston Villa, Nottingham Forest and Burnley this season and where Manchester City will soon step out in the Carabao Cup semi-finals.
Firms have been flocking to sign up for the tournament in May with Clinigen the latest to register a team.
Rapulu Ogbah, from the company, said: “Clinigen is once again happy to participate in, and support events particularly one that directly benefits the local community. We are looking forward to seeing everyone in May.”
It promises to be a great day out which includes a four-course meal alongside special guest and former Premier League referee Jeff Winter as well as a chance to play on the Pirelli Stadium pitch.
Burton Albion Commercial Director Fleur Robinson said: “This is a rare opportunity to play football on the Pirelli Stadium pitch and I’m sure lots of local companies will want to take this chance to get out there and take on other teams of work colleagues.
“We have already had a lot of interest, and we expect that competition to be a very popular, high quality corporate event.”
The event takes place on Friday, May 10, 2019, and the cost is £650 for ten people plus VAT (eight players, manager and assistant manager).
Every team is guaranteed to play a minimum of four games (60 minutes playing time). Group winners will contest semi-finals and finals.
A donation from the tournament proceeds will go towards Burton Albion Community Trust’s disability projects.
