BREWERS pair Jake Buxton and Will Miller have paid a visit to a Burton Albion Community Trust (BACT) over 60’s, walking football session.
The pair were on hand at ‘Golden Goal Football’ to give advice to the dedicated and enthusiastic participants at the Burton Albion Community Football Centre 3G on Wednesday morning (14th February).
The UK’s fastest growing sport is Walking Football and Burton Albion Community trust are proud to be the Midlands Regional Walking football champions, having played in the last two National Walking Football finals.
Scott Taylor, Football Development Manager, said: “It was great to have some of the first team players helping to support a fantastic programme. Obviously, Will (Miller) was injured and couldn’t join in, but it was still great to have him there to show his support and Jake Buxton got straight into the thick of things, despite playing the night before and was a pleasure to have there.”
There are plenty of opportunities for residents of East Staffordshire to come and join in at any time, with the 1st session being completely free. There is no need to book, interested parties must simply turn up in suitable clothing and are advised to bring a drink.
