NAYLOR SAYS BREWERS ARE UPBEAT AFTER FOREST RESULT

18 February 2018

TOM Naylor thinks that Burton Albion should have taken all three points against 10-man Nottingham Forest, but he says that the squad is in a positive mood after another encouraging performance.

The Brewers were denied their third home win of the season by numerous saves from Costel Pantilimon, as well as a stunning second-half block from Danny Fox to prevent Darren Bent from scoring his first Burton Albion goal.

Naylor admits that the Brewers could have won the game, but he believes there were plenty of positives to be taken from the performance.

He said: “I think everyone is upbeat in the changing room. We deserved to win the game but we just couldn’t find a goal, but it is another clean sheet and we have stopped the rot at home.

“Against Ipswich, we battered them and we did the same today, we had some chances in the first half. We just need that goal and to get the three points.”

Naylor has started the last two games at centre-half, having previously spent time in midfield. The former Derby man is enjoying his time in the back four.

He said: “I like it at centre-half, I like to see the play. I can drive out with it and I like to defend. Being at centre-half, see more of the pitch and get the ball more and you can play.
